Open-Source Heliostat Array Solar Roast Coffee is creating an open source heliostat array. The project's goal is to create the hardware and software needed to focus sunlight to a target using an array of miniature robotic mirrors. All of the information, including technical drawings, schematics, and software code will be published into the creative commons for others to use and build upon. Use this technology to generate electricity, provide industrial temperatures for industrial manufacture, to disinfect water, or to recycle plastics. View the Project |
